I loved him as a child, including 'Junior Criss-Cross Quiz' on TV. He had a brisk, cheery demeanour and a brilliant sense of timing, and always made me feel upbeat. His pub scene - and fake heart attack - in the film 'Lucky Jim' (with the excellent lead actor Ian Carmichael) was a minor masterpiece. Sorry you're gone, and thank you.
