Janet Reade

Died: 6 February 1943, New York City, New York, USA

Janet Reade was singing and dancing on stage from an early age. She was once part of a vaudeville act called 'The Templeton Brothers'. When Janet moved to New York she started her career as a dancer with the Ziegfeld Follies and later appeared on Broadway. Reade often sang on the radio and on stage and was given the opportunity to sing in some of her screen roles.

Janet Reade made her film debut in a couple of Vitaphone musical shorts. She appeared in only one feature film, 'The Smiling Lieutenant (1931)' in a small role. After her film roles dried up Janet returned to vaudeville for a while.
