Anne Firth

Born: 1 August 1918, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England
Died: December 1967

A very British actress who was mainly in films from the late 1930's.

  1. Unfortunately, I think she looked horrible in this film. The blonde hair color, thin, dark eyebrows and makeup they used just don't suit her. Her acting in this is stilted, and while watching George sing "Bell Bottom Blues", she looks slightly maniacal. She looks and acts much better in "The First of the Few" (aka "Spitfire!") and "Scott of the Antarctic".
    She came to a sad end. After a couple of accidents disfigured and infirmed her, she was unable to find film work and, when fired from a bartending job, she intentionally overdosed on aspirin.
