Phil Collins

Phil Collins was a child actor and singer who appeared in the West End as The Artful Dodger in a production of Oliver! in 1964 and later in 1967 in the same production as 'Noah Claypool'. He appeared in a couple of films and television series before turning his attention full time to music. Collins was a member of several bands from the mid 1960s onwards and in 1970 successfully auditioned for Genesis as their new drummer. When Genesis' singer, Peter Gabriel, left to go solo, Collins became their vocalist. Later he successfully turned solo as a vocalist selling millions of records while still performing occasionally with Genesis.

Although Phil Collins was a teenager in the audience, he confirmed that he could not see himself in the final cut. Phil says he believes this is because he was trying to listen to the music and not frantically waving his arms about and screaming.

All of the footage of Phil was cut owing to a large white bandage he had to wear because of a cyst near his eye.
