Sidney James

Born: 8 May 1913, Hillbrow, Johannesburg, South Africa
Died: 26 April 1976, Sunderland, Tyne-and-Wear, England

A much loved star of the Carry On films in England, but Sid James has done so much more including The Hancock Half Hour on both radio and television.

    He appeared in The British Movies,BBC & Independent Television Programmes included The House Across The Lake,Hell Drivers,The Sid James Show,Quatermass 2,Last Holiday,The Lavender Hill Mob,The Titfield Thunderbolt,Hancock'Half-Hour,Double Bunk,The Green Helmet,Emergency Call,The Extra Day,George & The Dragon,Two in Clover,The Bruce Forsyth Show,Too Many Crooks,Make Mine A Million,Bless This House,East End West End,19 Carry On Films from 1960-74,The Glass Gage,The Wedding of Lilli Marlene,Park Plaza 605,The Belles of St'Trinians,Father Brown,And The Same To You,Taxi,Citizen James,Joker's Wild,Cilla Black,Cliff Richard and The Stage Shows.


    Sadly on Monday April 26th 1976 when he passed away on stage at The Sunderland Empire Theatre during a performance in The Mating Season at the age of 62 years.


    The Great Memories of The British Actor icon is the late Sid James and the legend lives on.
