Charles Clay (real name Charles Austin Potter) was born in 1902 and died in 1978. He was in several films: "Child in the House" (party guest), and had a large part in "True as a Turtle". He had been owner and founder of Jersey Potteries, then of a hotel and flats in London W9. He appeared in films on the invitation of friends just for fun (couldn't do that today!); he was never a member of Equity. He was also a painter.
