Chet Brandenburg was a bit part player, stunt man and occasional second unit director in films for over forty years. He and his brother Ed Brandenburg appeared in silent films for Hal Roach studios and found themselves in Laurel and Hardy and Will Rogers pictures. You will be hard pushed to find a film where either Ed or Chet spoke any dialogue.

I wish I had known that he was at the Motion Picture Home in 1974 -- I would have tried to interview him. He was involved in the production of so many Laurel & Hardy films, on both sides of the camera. I just saw him as a hospital orderly in the unused ending for "Born to Be Bad" starring Joan Fontaine. Tomorrow night I'll be watching "The Indestructible Man" starring Lon Chaney Jr., where Chet plays a "Policeman with Flame Thrower." He should be easy to find! Thank you for writing this. I love obscure actors in movies of the 1920s-50s.
