Edmund Gwenn

Born: 26 September 1877, Wandsworth, London, England
Died: 6 September 1959, Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA

A stage actor who made his West End debut in 1899 in 'A Jealous Mistake'. Edmund Gwenn appeared in films as early as the silent era and carried on into sound films becoming a solid character actor. He rose through the ranks to stardom by the mid 1940s and is best remembered for his portrayal of Kris Kringle in 'Miracle on 34th Street' in 1947.
