Leila Williams

Born: 1937, Walsall, England, UK

Just as Leila Williams was beginning to establish herself as an actress an opportunity came up which would change her life when she was offered a presenting job on the British children's television programme 'Blue Peter'. Williams co-presented 'Blue Peter' for more than 130 episodes from its inception in October 1958 to 8 January 1962. Leila had won Miss Great Britain the previous year and represented Great Britain in the Miss World contest.

Leila Williams was married to Fred Mudd who was the lead singer of the popular British vocal group 'The Mudlarks'.
