Charley Rogers was an comedy actor from the stages of Great Britain. He was a good friend of Stan Laurel, working with him on the Music Hall stages and following him to the United States, where he became a prolific writer and director of comedy shorts for Hal Roach Studios, including several films starring Laurel and Hardy, for which he signed a contract in 1928. Rogers also maintaned his role as a comedic actor, featuring in the films of Laurel and Hardy, Shemp Howard and Harry Langdon, amongst others.
