Evelyn Ankers

Born: 17 August 1918, Valparaiso, Chile
Died: 29 August 1985, Haiku, Maui, Hawaii, USA

Evelyn Ankers was a British actress who was actually born in Chile. Beginning her film career in the UK, she made the move to America and was signed to a contract with Universal in 1940. Ankers appeared in a number of Universal horror films in the 1940s including the much revered classics 'The Wolf Man (1941)' and 'The Ghost of Frankenstein (1942)' both with Lon Chaney Jr.

Ankers later made B-movies for Columbia, Producers Releasing Corporation (PRC) and Republic Pictures. In 1946 she starred in 'Black Beauty', a major release for 20th Century Fox with her husband Richard Denning.
