Mary Nolan

Born: 18 December 1905, Louisville, Kentucky, USA
Died: 31 October 1948, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA

After appearing in the Ziegfeld Follies of the 1920s as Imogene Wilson, Mary became involved with a married comedian, Frank Tinney, who savagely beat her during a row putting her in hospital. Mary fled to Germany and appeared in several silent movies there under the name of Imogene Robertson. When she returned to the USA she appeared alongside some of the biggest names, such as Clive Brook and Edward G. Robinson, using a new name Mary Nolan. Sadly, as her career faded, she turned to heroin and died at the young age of 42.

Charming Sinners (1929) as Anne-Marie Whitley

With Clive Brook.
