Ruby Elzy

Died: 26 June 1943, Detroit, Michigan, USA

Ruby Elzy was a black opera singer who appeared on stage, radio and film. She was most famous for creating the role of 'Serena' in George Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" on Broadway in 1935.
