  1. A fine actor & man of good character.
    Fought zeppelins over Essex in a Sopwith Camel in the Great War, was subsequently shot down over France by Manfred Von Richthofen, no less.And rejoined the RAF as a Wing-Co in 1939, serving as Fighter Controller at RAF Hornchurch - a role he reprised a decade later in ANGELS ONE FIVE. Top bloke! To say nothing of the hundred+ films he appeared in post war.
