  1. Right on man..!! One of the things I love the most about movies from the 30's & 40's is the fact that there were soo many amazing "character actors" !!! They were ALL of them STARS, as they were all consummate professionals having received their training on the vaudeville circuit. Consequently, they really knew their business..SHOW BUSINESS !! And, they were all soo diverse, REAL PEOPLE.., (not ludicrous, one-dimensional boors with Narcissus complexes..).Cliff Clark was all of that.., and one of my many favorites !! In movies such as; "Miracles for Sale"- '39, ( w/R.Young).., "Stranger on the Third Floor"- '40, (w/P.Lorre).., "Murder in the Air"- '40, (w/R.Reagan).., and "Nine Lives are Not Enough"- '41, (also w/R.Reagan)..., He's great in all of these..usually as a jaded, rather cynical police detective..always a joy.., always adding soo much..!!! I like your idea for this blog Ian.. I really LOVE these forgotten actors..people truly do NOT know what they are missing. I love these movies.., from the '30's & '40's especially.. !!! --Peace !!

  2. Great blog, I love reading about all the real actors who had to remember their lines and didn't have all the modern tec to help them. I also like that back in the day movies had more than just a few actors but many character actors as well.
    Thanks
